Commonwealth State/Territory Disability Agreement - Annual Public Report 2007-08
This report highlights the progress and achievements made by Australian, State and Territory Governments during 2007-08 under the third Commonwealth State/Territory Disability Agreement (CSTDA). The third CSTDA expired on 30 June 2007, however it was extended until 31 December 2008, ahead of a new National Disability Agreement (NDA) commencing from
1 January 2009.
The CSTDA provides a national framework for the Australian, State and Territory Governments to work together in the provision of services for people with disability. All governments are committed to upholding the intentions of international and national conventions and standards in respect of removing all forms of discrimination and supporting equal rights and opportunities to all individuals throughout their life.
This Agreement outlines the responsibilities for both levels of government, to fulfil their complementary roles in the development and delivery of public policy and services that enhance the quality of life experienced by people with disability, their families and carers.
